Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
We rent a property the garage door got damaged. 3 of the 4 panels are damaged. The door is 10+++ years old and the property manager is trying to get us to pay for a new door, and let the owner pick whatever quote he wants to go with at our expense. They got a quote and I'm having someone give me a quote because I feel the property manager is just trying to get her garage door guy some work and have the owner get a upgraded door. I also contacted someone I know who is license, bonded and ins contractor who will get a used comparable garage door (what's up there now) put it up for a fraction of the cost. Can they do that?

Need to see the lease to advise, but you should immediately notify LL that this is an insurance matter, and that fair market value is the correct replacement cost.
