Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
getting rid of free loaders
My father has rented rooms in his house, no contracts were signed, just a gentleman's agreement. One of the renters is behind in his rent and has his son living with him in his room, the son has been there for 4 months and has not paid any rent and done nothing to help out a round the house to earn his keep, Also they have been eating all the food that my father buys, when he is at work. The son has become a smart mouth spouting out legal rights at my father. My father has told them for the last 4 months that they need to move out. He gave them a written notice to move out, but it was not with the courts or the sheriffs office. What does he need to do to get rid of these free loaders
