Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota

Storage of Cars

We have been storing about 50 non-running parts cars for an individual. He has not paid his rent in over a year amounting to almost $3,000. I realize if we take him to concilation court he may not be able to pay so I am wondering how can we get him to pay us and more importantly how can we get him to force him to get the cars out of the shed? Can we have them removed and send him the bill? Can we sieze the cars to pay his bill? I do not believe there was any contracts ever put in place, do we have any options for retribution and removal of the cars?

Re: Storage of Cars

Depending on the specific circumstances, you may have a storage lien or otherwise will have to follow MN statute for Notice and Sale of the property. You cannot just have it removed.
