Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Minnesota
threat of defamation lawsuit
My brother practices law in Oregon. He is the executor of my mother's estate. She passed away about six weeks ago.
Whenspoke to him about plans for her memorial service and disposal of her property, he was extremely rude and dismissive, often hangin
When I spoke to him about his attitude and told him I expected him to behave professionally in a professional situation, he said some horrible, creul, devestating things, and ended by telling me I was getting exactly the treatment from him that I deserved.
He now refuses to take my phone calls.
He wrote me a letter stating, as fact, total lies and fabrications about our phone call, and about me as a human being. He further told me that if Iwrite anything ''defamatory''about him, he would sue me for same in his state, and assured me that he would win by default.
Because he has brutally abused me all my life, the letter crushed me. I needed more medications and experienced a huge flare in my fibr This lawyer, with a fiduciary duty to me, has informed me of nothing about my mother's bequests, nor has he approached me about how to divide her property.
How long must I wait for this man to fulfill his fiduciary duty?

Until you get your own attorney and complain to the bar association in his state.
