Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

To change names on property title

My husband and I have a house in Mn. with both our names on the title. I kept my maiden name when I married so there are two different names on the title with the word ''and'' in between them. I would like my name removed and my son`s name added in it`s place with the word ''or'' between them. Can I do this without an attorney? Is this just a quit claim deed? Please help me and thanks!

Yes. It's just a matter of doing a quit claim deed - probably.

It depends on who has the title now and how title is held; and if you went to a lawyer, he or she would look into that before preparing a deed.

Yes you need a lawyer. Attempting to do it without an attorney is very risky. I would advise against it.

Good luck.
