Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota
consiliation court
I am being taken to court for a roof that was done last year - there is already a mechanics lien on the house and I am not disputing the amount that I owe the guy but he won't take payments so I am trying to get all 7,000 for him. My question is this, if I am not disputing the amount that I owe do I still need to show up in court?

I can't stress this enough, never miss a court date. There is nothing judges hate more than someone who doesn't bother to show up. Plus, you won't have the chance to explain to the court your situation.
If you have a scheduling problem, contact the court administrator and ask to reschedule.
