Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

Contract for deed

My Daughter has a house that she is buying and finds it almost impossible to maintain. She want us to take out a contract for deed on her house and then we will move in and she will find a small apartment to move in to. Which we don't mind, but I am not sure what contract for deed we should use and if it is legal to do.

Re: Contract for deed

You need to review this in detail with an attorney, rather than relying on one of the many contract-for-deed forms. Use of a contract for deed is legal, but it will probably trigger the acceleration of your daughter's mortgage note. Again, an attorney needs to review the current condition of title and then advise you.
