Foreclosure Question
If I have a special assessment balance due with my townhome association and my 1st mortgage starts the foreclosure process, what happens to the balance due on the association and who owns that debt? Do I continue paying my monthly association dues once the foreclosure process has started?

Since you are the owner of the home, you continue to owe the assessment which also may become a lien and be forclosed against the home. The fact that a foreclosure may have commenced does not modify present ownership.
