Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota
Can I give a less than 30 day notice to a landlord if I don't have a lease?
I have been a renter of a duplex for the last three years with out a lease. I found out that I got a job in another state and told my landlord that I would be moving at the end of the month. I gave her 18 days and figured that was good due to I did not sign a lease and knew nothing of the state law due to I'm not a lawer. She called and said that I owe for the next month as well and without haveing a lease how can I be held accountable for a months worth of rent when I am not there?

You do owe for the next month. If you want to leave at the end of this month, you have to give notice before the end of last month. That's our law when you have a month to month lease such as you do.
A verbal lease is still a lease.
Good luck.
