Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

I live in MN and our lease is up at the end of August. We were supposed to have our move out notice in by June 30th but we did not get it in until July 5th. Now they want us to pay Sept rent as well because we were 6 days late on getting the notice to them. And they are raising Sept rent $200. Is there anything I can do to get out of it!

If the landlord did not provide a similar notice of the rent increase, you may certainly challenge the increase for the additional month.
