Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

I've been living with a relative since 1999. From 1999 to 2007, she's been paying for the mortgage for roughly 40 Thousand Dollars. In 2007 she decided to move out and said I could have the House if I paid off the rest of the Mortgage, roughly 70k. I paid it off in one lump sum and have been living by myself for the past 2 years.

The problem is the House is still in her name, what sort of legal claim do I have should anything happen?

She said I could have the house if I paid off the mortgage, which i did, and there were several witness to it.

To enforce the agreement, your relative must deed the property to you. If she initially refuses, you may have a claim to equitably partition the property based on your agreement and your actions. You need to discuss this matter more thoroughly with a real estate attorney to determine your rights.
