Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota
Purchase Agreement
Last January I moved into a new house as a rent to own and when signing the lease the owner also had us sign other papers. At that time I wasent thinking that we were signing a purchase agreement because the house was not even built yet. But we did. Now we dont want to buy this house because there are things wrong with it and we are not happy with the turnout of the house. We are wondering are we ''STUCK'' buying this house or can we get out of it and what will it cost us?

Re: Purchase Agreement
No attorney can answer this without seeing the purchase agreement and reviewing other facts with you (such as what was said when you closed on the lease/purchase agreement and the problems you have now encountered with the house). In addition to cancelling the purchase agreement (which may not be possible), other options are to sell your interest in the house and pursue contract and statutory warranties against the builder/developer.
