Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

Slander Defamation - Help please

I bought a house and only to find out after I bought it that the house was on the market the year before, just eight months, and did not sell. The realtor did not disclose this to me. She said she did not know. She also told me that I was competing against a full price offer, so I ended up paying over list to get the house. After I bought it, she sent me an email saying that the other party was very interested, ready to write an offer. She changed her story. Can I get sued for Defamation of Character or Slander if I report her and her broker to the Minn. Market Assurance Division?

Re: Slander Defamation - Help please

It is not a defamation issue. Defamation is a declaration that calls into question a person's character.

Negligence is a possible issue. However, you do not relate how you were damages or the amount of the damage in financial terms. It would seem that both the elements of liability and damages would be weak.
