Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota
If I transfer land that I own in Minnesota to my three children, and one child is married, does the spouse of the married child then own 1/2 of that childs ownership?

That depends on what the deed says. Regardless of what the deed says, there is a marital interest, but that does not necessarily mean the spouse owns half of that child's interest. So, fundamentally, it is necessary to review the deed and any other documents that were used to convey the property before I can say definitively.
