Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Minnesota
I worked as a waitress/bartender for an Eagles Club. One of the Eagles Club members walked past me behind the bar and slapped my ass, loud and hard. I immediately went to the Eagles Club president and tol him what happened. All he said was he'd take care of it. The woman who hired me also says customers she hired me because of my big breasts. I feel I've been sexually assaulted and harassed. Do I have a valid case for a lawsuit?

I recommend that you confer with an attorney immediately about this situation and discuss the facts of the situation in further detail with the attorney. The attorney may ask you for sign an agreement to perform work on your behalf and likely there would be no charge to you. The attorney will provide you with legal advice.
Certain behavior of a boss, coworker, other employee, or client or customer that creates a hostile or offensive work environment for you or other employees, or otherwise negatively affects your employment or work performance may be considered sexual harassment. Sexual harassment in the workplace takes many forms. An employer may be liable for sexual harassment if the employer knew (or should have known) about the sexual harassment and failed immediately to stop it. Federal law offers protection to harmed workers and financial compensation may be available. I suggest you phone several attorneys in choosing who you want to help you, because it is extremely important that you feel a great sense of safety and trust with the attorney who will be working with you and on your behalf.
