Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Car accident with Cancelled License
Last night a girlfriend named Tiffany allowed her boyfriend Todd to use her car. He rear-ended a car. He has a cancelled drivers license. He called Tiff and she came in a different car, then Todd left the scene and Tiffany spoke with the police and told them that her brother was driving the car. The police have tried to call her brother and he is not willing to say it was him. Tiffany is worried that she will be held responsible for the accident. She doesn't want to tell them Todd was driving. (He is out of jail on Probation right now and will go back to jail for a probation violation) Todd thinks that this will just blow over and the cops don't know who was driving, however Tiff could be held responsible...right?? What should she do?

Re: Car accident with Cancelled License
They are likely to charge someone. The most likely scenario would be that they charge her brother with leaving the scene of the accident or chareg Tiffany for making a false statement to police.
