Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
I am being charged with dac-ips, 1 count, 171.24 subd. 5, gross misdemeanor and I know the penalty is 0-1 yrs jail and/or 3,000 fine. My probation officer knows about the incident and did not violate me. She in fact has since lowered my level of probation from seeing her once a month to probation to the courts and has taken me off UA's and she said she will not be anywhere around court that day. So my question is, what could be the most likely scenario that would occur?

It is impossible to answer your question without a review of your record and the particular police reports in the case. Certainly, upon conviction jail time is possible and even likely. In Henneping and Ramsey counties 30 to 90 days would not be unusual. Youwould be wise to seek legal counsel.
