Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
information on ticket is not accurate
I was given a speeding ticket and on the ticket the officer copied all of the crucial info from my drivers license, but she wrote that I was male in the gender part of the ticket and I am female. I have always been told that if something like that is not accurate on the ticket it is void. Is that true?

Re: information on ticket is not accurate
I doubt it would make much difference. Crossing all the Ts and dotting all the Is is not as important as it used to be, and courts have gotten out of playing the "gotcha" game.
If you objected to the ticket on that basis, the city would just amend it.
On the other hand, if you happened to have a valid defense to the ticket, the mistake as to gender could reflect badly on the overall credibility of the officer. If he was mistaken about your gender, what about the speed?
If you have a defense, defend. If you are guilty, pay the fine.
