Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Minor accident liablility limit
Recently in a parking lot I hit a patch of black ice nearing a stop and slid at approximately 1/2 mile an hour into another vehicle. I honked a warning, but to no avail. A chip in the paint of the bumper about the size of a quarter was left, but fortunately no dent. I agreed to take care of it, and gave all my information. The estimate that was given to me is for $383. When I was shocked by the amount, she threatened to have me pay for a rental car that she will need for two days. I realize I am responsible for this, but is there any limit to that? She seems to feel she has me by the neck and has been very unpleasant and threatening.

Re: Minor accident liablility limit
You have to pay. But I believe it would be reasonable to ask her to get another estimate.
