Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Nolo Contendre
I just got a speeding ticket last week in Minneapolis and I was wondering if it is possible to plead ''nolo contendre?'' I read that it can have strange consequences in some courts. Whats my best course of action to get out of the ticket or off my insurance?

Re: Nolo Contendre
There is no "Nolo contendre" or no contest plea available in Minnesota. there is such a thing as an alford plea, however, which has the same effect. Regardless, the plea has no impact on the consequences of the ticket.
In most instances, if you have a clean record, you may negotiate with the prosecutor for a Stay of Prosecution which will keep the ticket off of your driving record.
