Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Can a passenger be in violation of a license restriction?
I had a restriction on my license: any use of alcohol invalidates license. I was told that after 10 years with no other violations this restriction would be dropped Its been 20 years, and it was never dropped.
My wife was pulled over and I was a passenger, I had a few beers and the police told me that I would be receiving a letter from the state revoking my license, can they do that? Do I have any chance of getting it back?

Re: Can a passenger be in violation of a license restriction?
That is not correct. You have a "B" card. As a result, the restriction related to no alcohol consumption will ALWAYS apply. However, after 10 years, you may have the visual restriction removed from your license card so that it is not visible to others.
If you use alcohol, your license will be revoked. That is true whether you are driving or not.
