Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Rear ending car accident, Help!!!!!!
I was in a car accident at 1:15am tonight. I am 16 and it was past curfew so I didn't contact the cops. I was stopped at a red light and a drunk driver came from behind and hit me. The right corner of my bumper has a small piece missing and there is a small scratch. No one was injured. We pulled over and he couldn't find his insurance but begged me not to tell the cops because he couldn't afford a DWI. Since I was past curfew I agreed and he gave me his name, address, car license plate #, and his phone number. I can't tell my parents, what should I do????

Re: Rear ending car accident, Help!!!!!!
Arrange to have the car repaired at a reputable local body shop; be sure the person who hit you accepts full responsibility for the cost of repairs. Since you were not at fault in the wreck, why can't you tell your parents? Whatever the answer, not having called the law is not such a big deal since no one was hurt. Reconsider involving at least the safest of your parents.
