Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Old ticket
I have an unpaid Minnesota seat-belt
ticket from around 1990. I live out of
state, but visit (rarely). I'd like to
never pay based on the principle. If I
get pulled over in MN, what
happens? Is the ticket too old to be
an arrest warrant? Would I simply
settle it roadside and move on?
Thanks.

Re: Old ticket
You need to check with a MN attorney on this. Nothing is too old for an arrest warrant. However because the ticket is so old you may be able to negotiate down the fine.
