Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Will a "failure to read sign" in MN go on my permanent record?
1 Answer from Attorneys
I am not aware of any violation solely based on the "failure to read sign," the violation would be based on your conduct. It would not be a very strong defense if the sign stated "no turn on red," and you turned on red. If you are being charged with a crime you should consult with an attorney. Back to your question, most records are permanent but if the violation(s) is fairly minor its loses weight over time. I apologize, but your question is too vague to really give you a more specific answer. With that said, I certainly would not post any facts in this forum that may be incriminating. [That includes posting a question that starts with "I have a question about a friend"]. Good Luck.
