Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota
Yesterday I arrived home and parked my car in my parking spot on my private property and got out of the car. As I was standing outside of my car a police office pulled up in my alley-way and told me to get back into my car and roll down the window. After doing so he issued me a ticket for expired license tabs. Is what he did legal in the state of Minnesota?

Yes. If your vehicle had expired tabs, you may be cited whether you are in or around your vehicle or absent, by including a ticket on the wind shield. A stop based on the expired tabs is also valid.
