Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

Elder Law Protection From Out of State Relatives

12/7/99

To whom it may concern:

My mother-in-law is currently in a nursing home in Minneapolis. Her only son (my ex-husband) is deceased.Apparently,a family lawyer is working with her re: conservatorship, wills, etc...I have spoken to the nursing home, and feel that the lawyer is taking advantage of her age and ignorance of the business of law. Neighbors have seen people in the house, the attorney told the cleaning help not to come anymore, etc...I feel he is overstepping his bounds. I am raising my daughter(her only granddaughter) and suspect that

her attorney in MN. may sell the house, or has influenced her to satisfy his own fee structure. As we live in Texas, I must prepare myself with knowledge prior to a visit to Minneapolis.

How can I see what is public record, from here?
