Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota
My father passed away and my middle brother was listed as the beneficiary on his life insurance. My father did not have a will. Does my other brother and I have any claim to a portion of the insurance pay out?

A life insurance policy is a pay on death account. That means it operates outside of probate proceedings. Only the named beneficiaries have a right to the life insurance death benefit proceeds.
