Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota
My Father-in-law died last week, prematurly. He had cancer and lives in Minnesota. My Wife was asked by her father to come visit a few weeks ago and she did. He told her that what was his was his and what was his new wife of 14 years (he was 76) was hers. He died last week unexpectantly and she has refused to produce the will. Her father made it clear that he left a sizable amount to her and her brothers. He was a very successful business man and work up until his death. We went back for the funeral and becuase we did not want to seem like money grubbing mongers we stayed quit but asked about the will. She said he had one and that she was the executor and that it was simple and cut and dry. She did not produce it to any of us. We now beleive she is hiding assets and such. Where do we start to verify his estate?

If this estate needs to go through the probate process you should receive Notice from the Court that the probate process is about to begin. You could then object to her appointment as PR or to the Will itself.
