Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

Irrevocable trust/addition of beneficiary to will

My grandparents transferred their home/property into an irrevocable trust naming my oldest brother as the trustee. He is also the beneficiary in their will for this. My grandparents would now like to have their three grandchildren named as the beneficiaries. They know that the irrevocable trust can not be revoked/changed. How can they change their will to reflect all three grandchildren as beneficiaries of the home/property without encountering any legal ''loopholes'' upon their deaths?

Their will only controls assets that have not been put in the trust, which probably is not much if anything.

I tend to not like doing trusts such as the one you describe. This is a good example of why I don't like them.

A complete review of the situation by a good lawyer would not hurt. Good luck.
