Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

Mom's Will

Mom is in nursing home. Dad passed away in Oct. 07. My Dad's will is not in question. However, my Mom's will contains a member of the family which she no longer trusts, as executor upon her death. Do I need to draw an entirely new will for her or could we make a small change by adding my name as executor (I am her daughter and also P.O.A., personal representative and conservator). We also need to make some other small changes but the main one is the naming of me as her executor. Do we even need to change will at all? Codicil?

Re: Mom's Will

If your mother does not want the prior executor (now called Personal Representative) she should change her Will. You can just make a codicil but it is just as easy to redo her Will and the cost is about the same.
