Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

Paying Bills

My dad past away in June of 2003. My sister is executor. My dad left me a cabin, and the contents were divided among three siblings. My sister and I stayed in the cabin while in MN and we had several issues with a propane leak, garage door unsafe, old utilities bills, etc. I have paid for these repairs and such out of my personal checking acct. I have submitted for reimbursent from the estate, yet my sister feels that since the cabin will eventually be mine, I should pay these expenses. Since proabte will not end until late Feb, who is responsible for these expenses?

Re: Paying Bills

This is an expense of the estate.

Re: Paying Bills

you need a mn estate attorney to explain this to you --- not ca -- also it may well depend on how the will reads to determine who is responsible for repairs and maintance --- seek legal counsel in mn, assuming he died there immed -- if he died here seek ca counsel --- i am in the s.f. bay area and if you wish to consult with me 925-945-6000
