Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

What's my responsibility in Estate fees?

I am listed as benificary on a POD CD account, but not named in the will. There is land that is split among other heirs, that were named in the will, which will be transferred to their names for a fee I'm sure. Who is responsible for these fees, the new landowners or the estate (which I'm told that outstanding bills will be divided among all who recieved anything)? What fees will I personally be obligated to pay?

Re: What's my responsibility in Estate fees?

Ordinarily fees are paid out of probate assets. If you are POD, that account that you are to receive is not an asset of the estate - at least not a probate asset.

From what you describe, I don't see you as liable for anything.
