Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

unpaid medical bills

my father is terminally ill with cancer. The hospital that did the initial surgery made errors and my father is suing for malpractice. In the meantime, the hospital is sending him bills, to the point that they have sent it to a collection agency.

Can they go after his house after he dies? He has bequithed it to his children in his will.
