This response is for general information purposes only and does not create an attorney-client relationship. You are advised to consult an attorney of your choice concerning the details of your case.

If a probate court file has been opened, the will will be in the court file and that is public information. Your friend can go to the courthouse and see anything in the file for the asking. The probate should take place in the county where the person was living when he or she died, or in the county where most of the assets are located.

If there is no court file, seeing that will is going to be a very difficult thing to do, maybe impossible - but that would also be an indication that there is not much of an estate.

Good luck.
