Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

No will at the time of death

If a homeowner has no will, do this person have to have names on an abstract? I was told that at the time of death and there is no will and no names on an abstract(?) then the property goes to the state to do whatever with. Can you please explain this law or rules to me?

Re: No will at the time of death

The house will need to be probated, as will any other assets owned by the person at the time of their death. Property does not go the state unless no heirs can be found.

You may need the help of an attorney to probate the estate. I could not explain how to do it yourself.
