is there a penalty
My wife had settled on a wc case through mediation. After the case was sent to the judge she was told that her check disbursment would be in 14 days after the judge signs it its now 15 days is there a penalty to the ins. co.

The check needs to be issued within 14 days after the Order is filed. Generally, an Order is filed the same day the judge signs it. Since the insurer has 14 days after the Order is filed to cut the check, it take more than 14 days before you receive it. Nothwithstanding those factors, yes there is a penalty for late payment.
