Internet Harassment

Can someone press charges against you if you post a comment about them on their my space web page? The comment was not threatening the person life in any way, I was just commenting on the way that the person looked.

Re: Internet Harassment

I suppose it depends on what you said. An ethnic or racial slur could be deemed a hate crime (like painting racist grafitti on someone's house). If your comment would suggest to a reasonable person that you intended to harm her that might also qualify. If she has a restraining order against you that you violated by posting she could have you held in contempt. But if all you did was say something critical that she didn't like, I don't see how it could amount to a crime.
