twenety second amendment presidential term limit

How long can an individual serve as president under the twenty second amendment. I believe it is between 9 and 10 years. If a person assumes the presidency with less than 2 years remaining on the term he ascended the position than I believe the 22nd amnedment allow him to run for re election twice. If he served MORE and 2 years of the term he ascended to, than he can run for re election only once. case LBJ could have run twice. since JFKs term was more than half over when he assumed the presedency.

Please clarify.

You are correct. A president who takes office two years into his predecessor's term (after the predecessor's death, resignation or removal) can serve the remaining two years and can go on to serve two full four-year terms for a total of ten years.
