Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi
arrest and grand jury dismissed
I was arrested for voyerism but was dismissed by a grand jury. What will remain on my record (and how long) as far as criminal background checks for employment, residential leasing, etc.

Re: arrest and grand jury dismissed
depending on the clerks involved, your arrest was probably entered into NCIC and ACIC. this will probably never be removed. any dismissal by the grand jury will probably not be entered by any clerk, therefore your NCIC record probably will reflect an arrest and no disposition. removal of the arrest would take a court order and such an order is very difficult to obtain. call me if you wish to discuss the matter further.
