Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi

I bought a car and wrote a check for $32,000.00. My check did not clear and I have the car back. The dealer is asking me for $5000.00 cash or he is going to turn my check over to the authorities. Is this possible?

He cannot extort you for money however if there was depreciation to the car etc I could see a demand. Yes, a bad check may be turned over to the authorities. They could charge a couple of different things in this matter. Please retain counsel
