Can anything be done without having to file charges against some who forged my name to a car title and had it put in their name?

A suit could be filed in lieu of filing forgery charges, seeking in the lawsuit the value of the vehicle. However, the Court may refer the matter to law enforcement for prosecution once the facts are made known.
