Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi

In the great state of Mississippi, if a juvenile is charged with aggrevated assault and armed robbery(which should have been just theift) should he not have physically gone in front of a juvenile court judge with a lawyer to represent him before being charged as an adult? If he was and he did not ,only his paperwork went to the juvenile judge is that not a violation of his civil rights? And would that be enough to get said juvenile released. He was 15 at the time and is now 16 and been incarserated for a little over a year now.

THEY'RE OBVIOUSLY TREATING HIM AS AN ADULT. YOU NEED TO CONSULT LOCAL COUNSEL FOR RESEARCH INTO THE FACTS ON THIS ISSUE BUT I FEAR HE WAS NOT ENTITLED TO A HEARING ON THE ISSUE BEFORE A JUVENILE COURT JUDGE.
