Harrassment

I got detained by 3 police officers in my hometown and when I asked the officers what I was doing wrong to cause them to stop me, they indicated that I was ''driving on the wrong side of town'' and then when I explained that I was just driving around town, he said ''why did you choose the dope side of town?'' Is it legal for a police officer to detain you for which side of town you are driving on without having seen you do anything against the law?

No. The police must have a reasonable suspicion to stop and/or detain you. What matters is what they have in their report. I doubt they'll put that you were driving on the wrong side of town in their report, so it's just your word vs. their word. If you weren't charged w/ a crime or harmed in any way, I'd let it go.
