Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi
My husband was shoot by this guy 10 yaers ago, he just now seen the guy and try to smooth things out, the guy started a fight and my husband beat him down in self defence. he is now being charged with aggrevated assult, can they do that?

They can charge anyone with a crime where there is a basis for the charge. Self defense is a good defense in some cases depending on the facts. The defendant charged with Aggravated Assault is facing a 20 year prison sentence so this is not something to be taken lightly.
