Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi

I have a misdeaminor charge for shoplifting in Va. Beach, 23 yrs ago. I currently live in Hattiesburg, Ms. I'd like to have the old charge expunged so I can get a state job. how can I do this?

You need to contact competent criminal defense counsel in Virginia Beach to have this expunged. The papers will be filed in that court. However, it may not be necessary to have this expunged as it is a misdemeanor, which should not bar you being employed by the State of Mississippi.
