Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi
Probation
my son was sentenced to 6 months to a year in a drug rehab for probation violation in one county. he is supose to be in court in another county at the end of this month for a different charge. How can he be in court in another county when he will already be in jail?

Generally, when this occurs, the court or District Attorney's office will obtain a transport order which orders the Department of Corrections to transport your son to the appropriate county so that he can answer the charges and/or petition against him. He won't be viewed to have a duty to be in court while he's in custody.
