Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi

This is a question concerning Mississippi Law.

My son worked for a business and was fired when a laptop came up missing. A couple of months later he was informed that a warrant had been issued for him for embezzlement of business property. The company is no longer in business.

How do we go about clearing this up if the business that filed the charges is no longer open?

It is the state, not the complainant, that prosecutes a criminal case. The issue of whether the store is open is irrelevant. Ultimately, it will depend on whether the witnesses against your son are still cooperating with the government.
