reckless indangerment
If the other party in the car caused the reck to happen. Is there a law to protect the driver from being sued?

That can't stop somebody from filing a suit against you but the facts might provide a defense. If you have insurance, the company will provide you a lawyer to handle this for you.

Not really, but the Miss. Litigation Accountability Act can put the plaintiff at risk of paying the defendant's attorney fees if the complaint is totally lacking in merit. Also, Rule 11 of the Miss. Rules of Civil Procedure allow for sanctions if the complaint is frivilous.
