Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi

I need a restraining order put on an ex boyfriend and was curious of what kind and how to go about it. The relationship was violent and he won't leave us alone after 7 months. He has me followed by friends, He shows up at my home and wont leave will even sleep in his car. I went out of town for work reasons he showed up at the hotel I was staying at knocking on all the doors trying to find my room.

Go to the Justice Court and discuss a "Protection from Domestic Abuse" petition. You will file it and it will Order that he has no contact with you and that he stays at least a certain distance from you (usually 1000 feet or more). Further, if he violates it he goes to jail. If you violate it though you may be punished as well. This is a temporary Order to protect you until you are able to get into another Court to obtain permanent relief .
