Re: rights violation
THE RIGHTS OF THE POLICE TO SEARCH YOUR VEHICLE BASED UPON YOUR BOYFRIEND BEING A SUSPECT IN A CRIME DEPEND ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE CRIME AND WHETHER OR NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND EITHER (1)WAS A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE SEARCH; OR (2) HAD JUST EXITED THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE SEARCH; OR (3) USED THE VEHICLE IN THE COMMISSION OF THE CRIME, THEREFORE GIVING THEM REASON TO SEARCH THE VEHICLE TO TRY TO FIND EVIDENCE OF THE CRIME COMMITTED.
OTHERWISE IT IS QUESTIONABLE WHETHER OR NOT THE MERE FACT THAT HE IS SUSPECTED IN A CRIME WOULD GIVE RISE TO A VALID REASON TO SEARCH YOUR VEHICLE.
